As a Healer, Inner Work is the Most Important Work You’ll Do
It’s not uncommon as a healer, empath, intuitive, psychic, shaman or someone else who is here to use their spiritual gifts to spend entire days in bed sometimes.
Full disclosure: I’m writing this article from bed as we speak – and I have zero guilt or shame around admitting that once I’m finished writing this article, I’ll probably remain in bed for the rest of the day. #treatyoself
In fact, here is my full permission to allow yourself to do this more often, if you don’t already.

This is something I always had huge resistance with, because I was so in my masculine energy, driven by my perfectionist/overachiever tendencies and the society-imposed need to constantly be performing and taking action.
I would feel so much guilt about sitting around doing nothing, or lying in bed for an entire day even though the inner work was physically draining me and rendering me incapable of doing anything.
80% of the work that you are here to do as someone who is called to share their medicine with the world is the deep INNER WORK.
Integration is key
It’s integrating the energetic upgrades, it’s feeling the emotions that are coming up to be cleared, it’s facing the growth lessons and healing in all aspects of your life (especially your personal connections) that will help you to embody the energy of a compassionate, heart-open, divine feminine (or masculine) leader.
It’s about reflecting on what’s arising for you, allowing old blocked and stagnant energy to move out of your system (which is physically taxing and draining) and it REQUIRES a degree of surrender, feminine ‘leaning back’ and allowing.
It requires a degree of allowing yourself to receive nurturing and compassion from the divine, from others, and giving it to yourself.
It requires a degree of faith that – if this is truly what you’re here for – you’ll be supported even if you were to lie there in that bed for weeks on end.
And that, the physical, tangible, steps or ‘doing’ will come in divine timing – you will be guided when the time is right to take action.
How to share your gifts and medicine in the world
Almost every single client that I’ve ever served, or has ever come to me for advice on their initiation path has asked me “how do I begin to share my gifts and my medicine in the world?” or “how do I go from ‘feeling called’ to actually sharing my gifts?”
I always tell them the same thing – clear your vessel, work on yourself, and allow something else to work through you (because in reality, that is what your job here is – to be a vessel of service for the divine/your own soul to flow through you).
Stop thinking that you need to do XYZ, join this course or that course, get your ducks in a row, or have everything figured out right from the start.
It’s a journey that will unfold, in divine timing, as you’re ready for each next piece of the puzzle to come through.
You will be provided everything that you need along the way when the timing is right – including the forward momentum, the creativity, the downloads, the connections, the inspiration and the motivation to get shit done.
Drop the guilt around ‘following your path’ looking like the highly-masculine energy of constantly having to take action, knowing the ‘how’ and doing tangible, physical steps.
When you heal yourself, you heal the world
Stepping into your gifts doesn’t look like learning a new healing craft, or posting on social media constantly, or feeling like you need to be doing more all of the time and taking action.
The healing work you are allowing yourself to do IS the action.
The praying, asking to be guided, and allowing whatever needs to be removed as a result IS the action.
Healing yourself IS healing the world.
You can’t assist others in healing if you’re not filling up your own cup, first – if you’re not doing the healing work on yourself, too.
In allowing yourself to clear your vessel (and leaning back and integrating while that’s happening), you are doing exactly what you came here to do.
